CSA Information

Let’s start with the basics. Here at Happytown we are a certified organic vegetable and flower farm, and our goal is providing healthy nutrient dense food for our local communities in an accessible and affordable manner. We also have happy chickens that provide us with eggs all year round and we love what we do!

What is a CSA? Community Supported Agriculture (CSA): A way to buy local food directly from a farmer by purchasing a "share" of a farm's harvest in advance1. This means that you are invested in sharing the farm’s success and downfalls for the year, which means a lot to us because your payment in the spring directly funds the seeds, soil, and planting of the crops you will enjoy eating all summer. In the beginning and end of the season the boxes will have less options and mid-season the boxes will be well packed (sometimes hard to close!) The vegetables will range throughout the season, and we will send out a weekly newsletter to inform you of the contents a day or two before pick-up day and recent news about the farm. If there is anything you know you won’t eat, you are welcome to let us know, and we can substitute it for something else that’s available.

The options for the sizes of shares are by the number of people in the household and the number of weeks you would like. We can accommodate most situations so let us know if it needs to be staggered or you need to skip a week or add a week for example. We are happy to make any custom share plan as well, or if you want to pay a certain amount to keep a tab and order whenever/whatever you want is also an option, as well as a share support option that donates your extra funds to a family in need. The farm is grateful for you as our customer and part owner of the crops!
